A few months ago, an inspired and magnetic new designer maker studio opened in Paris. Paul Demarquet and Albane Salmon joined their talents and dedication to develop an unencumbered, and cheerful line of products. Atelier Sauvage’s ambition is to deliver one-of-a-kind, hand-made, solid wood, nature inspired objects.
Born and raised in the south of France, Paul and Albane met in Paris at the École Boulle were they shared a workbench. They quickly began working together on extra-curricular projects. They first made a unique coffee table, capturing the underlining fragility of the imposing mountains of their childhood homes with a leaning concrete base and a wooden tabletop.
Together, they took the plunge and launched Atelier Sauvage in September 2015. A human-sized studio allowing them to create and build their own designs, mainly inspired by nature and raw materials such as wood, metal, stone, concrete, leather and glass.
Paul and Albane’s line of products is handmade and charismatic with spare, intuitive and wild esthetics. Through each piece of furniture or decorative item built in their studio, they defend a craftsmen‘s understanding of design and express positive emotions by means of geometrical volumes, colors and different textures.
“When rough, wild and beautiful nature comes to you in the shape of spare and refined furniture.” Every object designed and built by Atelier Sauvage is a tribute to the astounding landscape of the South of France: rocky and harsh, yet generous and colorful. The modern, energetic and joyful designs of Atelier Sauvage are an ode to the generosity of life.
Furniture and decorative objects are available as one-of-a-kind or in limited edition. They are currently distributed in design galleries and upon request through Atelier Sauvage’s website: http://www.atelier-sauvage.com
