IDSwest bubbles with excitement during The Party on Opening Night presented by Cosentino. Open to the public, the 10th anniversary celebrations begin with the North American debut of the Bottega Prosecco VIP Lounge, a glittering preview of a flagship Bottega Prosecco bar planned for the city.
“We’re excited to attend IDSwest, an event considered extremely important in the worldwide design business; Canada is a niche and trendy market, where only the best designers and companies can perform successfully,” says Sandro Bottega, president of Bottega. “We hope the VIP Lounge and future bar will convey our love for wine, nature, and style.”
Drawing inspiration from beach pavilions of the 1970’s, the gold colour of the iconic Bottega bottle, and the celebratory effervescence of the wine, designer and architect Andrea McLean took an elegant approach in the creation of the lounge. During the process, Andrea collaborated with lighting designer Matthew McCormick, who crafted a 25-foot-tall custom installation to shine above the Bottega VIP lounge. The lounge incorporates elements that reflect the sophistication of prosecco and a style that speaks to the natural esthetic of the West Coast. On Opening Night, guests will be the first to experience PROCESS, a behind-the-scenes look at the design development of the Bottega VIP lounge, giving insight into the creative challenges and evolution of this glamourous architectural design.
The Party on Opening Night also throws doors wide to Shed, presented by Caesarstone. A fully- stocked bar, Shed was conceived by Vancouver’s own rising interior design stars Falken Reynolds. Inspired by a backyard garden party, lush greenery meets cool new Caesarstone surfaces in this outdoor-inspired oasis. The social hub of the show, Shed is the ideal hangout for relaxing, mingling with a design-savvy crowd, and raising a toast to a decade of the best of West Coast design.
All other features and exhibits are also open to the public during The Party on Opening Night, Thursday September 25, from 6pm to 10pm. Advance tickets and weekend passes to IDSwest are sold online at a reduced rate, with full-price tickets available at the door. For more information please visit www.idswest.com
